Then she realised she hadn't got it quite right, she now sings "...and an ostrich in a pear tree"

DD2 was singing the 12 days of Christmas yesterday as they are learning it for their school play. When DH joined in she turned to him in amazement and said 'How do YOU know that song?'

I always thought

"Westward leading, still proceeding"

meant that the guy in front was called 'Westward', and the next guy was called 'Still' which I thought was an odd name

DS was singing 'we wish you a Merry Xmas to you and your kin' last week, and it was only then that I twigged that I had had it wrong for years. Kin really does make more sense.
He even knew what it meant, they had had it explained to them at school.
