Workbook for Ofsted?

Hi have posted this is education but not sure which thread is best..

I was pulled to one side by my sons reception teacher this afternoon and he asked if it was ok to keep his workbook for Ofsted instead of bringing it home - he said I can have it overnight tomorrow to look at, which is fine with me.
My question is however, what do they need it for? My son has had behavioural issues this year, possible asd/adhd, he is under SEN and has speech therapy.. I just presumed for Ofsted they would want work from a high achieving child? I suppose I'm just curious!
Thanks in advance ☺️

They often ask for three books - higher, middle and lower achieving.

They look at work from a variety of boys/girls, high/low, SEN, Pupil Premium, Free School Meals from across the school. They're looking to see how progress and attainment are supported across the full range of pupils, not just the higher attainers.

Last time we had Ofsted they only wanted to see the books of all those kids who the school get a pupil Premium for.

Yes that makes sense thank you! My daughters books were kept a couple of years ago but she's bright and working above expected so it didn't surprise me.. but my son is the complete opposite so I was curious. Thanks again! X

They don’t want to see it/ the school is wrong

They don’t look at last years books

Pupil premium is funding for students that are at an educational disadvantage. Could be that they are in receipt of free school meals, are looked after by someone other than a parent, parents are I the forces etc.
These students often don't make the same progress as other students, therefore the school is given money to support them.
Ofsted would want to see work from a range of higher, middle, lower ability. Often with a specific focus on SEND and pupil premium students.
As PP said, I'm not sure why they would want to look at books from a previous year, unless it is to show progress in one student from one year to another?
I am secondary so don't know the ofsted procedure for primary.

Not any more. That stopped pre the 2019 framework.
