naturing center london pre-prep with good results at 7+/8+

Dear all,
My DS is now 4, and we recently have moved to London. We're looking for a pre-prep in center London for our DS with good results at 7+/8+, but also we'd like to escape from the academical pressure of center London. I know that is very hard to enter many schools trying to register at 4 yo, but any suggestions would be appreciated.

PD: seeing the pressure to enter good schools in London like WUS, SPJS or KCS, we're thinking in boarding in the future, so we need a school that permits enrolling good boarding preps.

Thank you so much. Smile

I would be very wary of Thingalings comments. There are still a lot of people in London who earn a lot of money and can afford the fees of top prep schools. There is still pressure on these school places.

For centrally based schools, you could try Hill House and Knightsbridge School.

Just be aware that there is a contradiction in your requirements. You want your DS to go to a gentle, nurturing school but also want him to be prepared for the top secondaries. You may need to be honest about what you really want.

So true . Bump

I mean I kind of agree with thangling . Whenever I call zone 1-2 schools nowadays they all have places most of the time .

I’m afraid it’s all greed fuelled.
Private equity companies buy up schools and the first thing they do is expand them to get max return from their investment. So preps are opening pre preps and senior schools, pre preps opening nurseries and preps, etc etc. The number of places is ever bigger and the pool of parents willing to pay the fees is not.

But nobody wants to admit it, obvs, especially the parents who ran themselves and their kids into the ground to get through admissions processes to schools which are supposed to be “elite”...

Thanks so refreshingly honest.
