Year 6 leavers events going ahead this year?

Have your children’s schools planned anything for the year 6 children leaving primary school this year?

Curious as to what other schools are doing (if anything).

Ours are going surfing, having a bbq and a game of rounders.

Residential on. Unless something goes wrong. Leavers event is after 19/7. Hoodies. Filming class shows instead. Other fun stuff in class bubbles.

Leavers' production is on - outside, socially-distanced audience, also filmed I think? Award ceremony will be filmed. No disco but they might do a big after school event for just the kids on the field, weather dependent. Sports day is on, just not to parents.

Cycling proficiency - cancelled
Residential - cancelled
Sports Day - cancelled
Summer show - cancelled

They're hoping to do a leavers' bbq for the dc only, at school, and will present them with leavers' hoodies and yearbook type folders.

We haven't heard what's happening about the special assembly they normally hold, I imagine it's going to be cancelled for parents though.

The thing I'm most bothered about is yr 7 transition days being canceled. We haven't heard yet but so many schools around us seem to be cancelling. It's bad enough that we didn't get to look round any high school and had to do virtual open evenings, but to expect dc to go to a secondary school that they nor their parents have ever set foot in is beyond sense.

One weeks residential and disco for year 6. Year 4 and 5 are having a 2 day residential. Sports day is on but only reception and year 6 parents to watch. Our school is doing as much as possible within the guidance and I love them for it.
