Dear All,
We would appreciate some advice and experience of any mumsnetters from SW London. We are moving to Kingston and looking for an independent school for our son to start. We have so far heard of schools such as Rokeby, Surbiton, Park Hill, Westbury and The Mall but there are so many around, it would be so helpful to get some opinions. I appreciate visiting the schools is the most important thing, but parent experience is very telling as well :) We are not sure (obviously) at this stage what we are aiming for for senior schools, but looking for a nuturing school that will challenge him in a tailored approach but is not overtly pushy/one size fits all.
Thanks a lot
T

As you say there is lots of choice and you could add Shrewsbury House with the pre-preps in Wimbledon/ claygate and Milbourne Lodge in Claygate to your list.
Whilst your ds may be young the big difference is schools that end at age 11 or 13, if you envisage your ds going on to a state grammar or local private school like Kingston Grammar or Hampton boys then you should consider Surbiton boys, westbury, The Study in New Malden etc. If you are considering a big name London school or boarding then Rokebury, Shrewsbury House etc.
It's of course very difficult to make these decisions when your ds is young so perhaps look for an easy school run, after school provision and sports facilities. You can't go wrong with any of these choices.
