Primary schools Birchington / Westgate / Broadstairs

Hello!

Can anyone help me please with some primary school thoughts?!

We’ve just moved to Margate to be closer to family. We’re currently renting whilst we sell our old place and buy somewhere here and we’re looking along the coast from Birchington down to Broadstairs as partner loves a sandy beach!

We will have to apply for a primary school place for our eldest soon so our priority is finding a house in the catchment area of a school we like. But I have no idea which schools we like! With COVID any school tours will likely be too late before we need to move, and I haven’t yet met any parents to ask. I’ve read Ofsted reports but I’m more interested in the feel of a place. Can anyone please share what they think about any of the primaries - any to avoid / any favourites etc. Thank you!

Hi @OndiBos
Also currently considering moving from London to Birchington so adding myself to this thread. Our babies not even one but need to start thinking about these things! My husbands done some research and there are two grammar school located in Ramsgate and Broadstairs, there is also an independent primary in Broadstairs where 75% of children get into the grammar but then you need to foot the bill! Looks like one primary in birchington and another about a 5 minute drive outside.
If you have anymore info on birchington that would be great. We think it’s pretty, quiet a bit more affordable and just down the road from livelier Westgate and Margate. I’m just wondering how good the community/ mum life is and also there only looks like one nursery option too.

I don't live there but I am about 15 minutes away. I have 2 primary school children and things to do in half term and summer holidays in the surrounding areas are brilliant. Lovely beaches, walks, days out, parks all around. You won't be stuck for things to do thats for sure.
