Different learning for those in school

In the first lockdown the school essentially provided childcare, staff in on a rota and children in school were just given the same learning posted online for the rest of us. This time we’re still getting the same rubbish online work but all teachers are in school teaching their reduced size classes. How is it fair that the kids at home are getting less education when the ones in school have a full timetable?

Our children in school have the exact same learning as those at home.

Those at home have teacher videos and yes, while this is not as good as being in school, what more can the teachers do?

They didn't choose to only have schools open to key worker children.

@Glera our school not even allowing vulnerable children or those with two keyworker parents if either can WFH. They wrote a criteria but seemed to handpick who they wanted so there is an element of choice with some schools - appalling as it is. The difference is that in school there is an adult to support the kids with learning who is just doing that job - for many families there are often adults doing other jobs so very difficult for match the same education and of course can't match socially or physically with the space and exercise.

Not individual teachers fault but I think SLT teams should take seriously the experience of working families. In most cases some live work helps - doesn't have to be every day but covering some basics.

In addition, no mucking about when the government announce kids going back. I'll be amazed if schools and unions don't kick off and try to disrupt an 8th March return.

There are some things in the schools control and some things not. But getting half right helps.
