I can't believe it !

I have just picked up my ds (4 1/2) from school, to be told that he bit a little girl through her jumper.....and was caught with a group of other children (not the instigator) looking under the toilet doors !!!!

I sent a wonderfully kind and sensitive child to school a couple of weeks ago and they return me a wilful violent pervert i want my money back !

Seriously though, i am disappointed about the biting. He has never been a biter, although he bit me a week ago whilst playing, but couldn't say why. As far as the school are concerned, they have discussed the matter and he had to sit on a chair for 5 mins, it is finished.

But i am left feeling quite odd about this. We have talked and he said that he bit this little girl because he got cross whilst they were playing. We have discussed other ways of handling the situation, and i know that he is sorry. He's been good as gold up 'till now and then gets into trouble twice in one day.

Any sympathetic hugs/cups of tea would be most welcome.

Goodness, poor you. I am sure this is a little bit of out of character behaviour brought on by not quite knowing how to handle starting a new school. We are all a little out of sorts when we start a new job etc and at 4.5 he is probably not quite so good at dealing with it . I expect it is quite normal for all sorts of behaviour to occur in the first week or so as they are all so excited/nervous etc. Your kind & sensitive DS is still there, he is just adjusting to something new.

Chances are he's knackered. Behaviour at school always seems to deteriorate in the week before half/end of term.

Awww you poor thing. It's nearly half term - the children are tired and worn out. They like to relieve this by making US tired and worn out - this is how children recharge their batteries.

Have to add though that I had a girl scale a wall & peer through a toilet window at me at Brownie camp and proclaim loudly 'eurgh what horrible big pants' and it did scar me for life - still can't pee if window is open . So I do worry slightly for the toilet door lookee

Thanks for all your messages.

Dirtmonkey - Sorry to hear of your own 'toileting' horror !

I know its not a 'huge' issue, but i suppose i worry that he might have blotted his copybook with the teachers a little bit, and he really is a lovely boy - yes, i am biased
