I have the entire set and they are fantastic - they are what I used initially to teach my ds to read as they start off very simple but get very complicated by the end of the series, so were good for my dd too.

Both my dc's love the pictures and altho the initial books are a bit 'frog and dog on a log' they soon get into sweet little stories about the two cats and their doggie friends.

The illustrations are lovely, and simple so they do not distract too much from the text. Marlene Greenwood who wrote them is also a great help at advising which books to buy for the stage your child is at - just give her a call.

I would really recommend them :-)

The Jelly and Bean books are fanastic. As they are decodable they are really good for building confidence. The stories are well written and enjoyable.

They are a very good set of books to help children learn to read. Most/if not all words can be sounded out!
