Hi my family are moving to north wales we don't have a house yet (renting) but nearly packed and want to go before sept.
I'm hoping for a bi lingual school for them so its not much pressure, any good and bad places?
We were due to look at a place in snowdonia but not sure how english people fair there, I'm stressing and don't want it to be a disaster....help xxGrin

have a look at Christchurch primary in Rhyl
www.christchurchcpschool.co.uk/
Welsh is taught as a second language, so is mixed in throughout the day alongside English.

Just avoid schools in Wrexham.

Are you looking at bilingual schools due to them speaking English and not Welsh? Many schools in Wales are taught in English with Welsh lessons, apart from welsh language schools which will be fully welsh medium with English lessons.

I think you need to contact the local authority.

I remember watching a prog not so long ago about Gwynedd schools that showed they are ALL Welsh language schools and the authority run a special unit for non Welsh speakers for a term to give them a crash course in Welsh, and then offer a little bit of follow up support.

Don't know if that is current or not

Which areas does everyone think are the better ones please?

Try Anglesey - slightly more English schools and balanced approach. Gwynedd school are welsh first language which may not be a problem for you, but I have friends whose children had issues later because of this and wished they had chosen differently.
