@Lougle
I think that's a pity. My school has put lots of the measures in place that you describe but that hasn't made it miserable for the children. I think children are generally more adaptable and resilient than we think. We have tried hard to put the children into a bubble with a friend. They may not have their regular teacher but they do have a teacher. I talked with my bubble today about seeing the positives in every situation and they all told me some positives about the new school arrangements: more individual help and attention from the teacher; chance to work more easily at own pace; less pressure; calmer, quieter school and playground; chance to ask questions and share their ideas etc. One of my shy children has really come out of her shell and told us all that she felt she was becoming more confident.

@cansu and I'm sure that's the case at DD3's school. It's a great school and the HT was only trying his best to give an honest account of the decision we had, as parents, to make. I'm not worried about DD3. She's resilient and she's happy being at home. She's working hard and learning. She's going on to secondary school in September, so I think she's mentally 'done' with primary.

I think in most cases it's not the building space, but the staff.
If you put a teacher and TA, for instance, in a church hall, are either of them first aid trained? How is the building cleaned? How are the children walked from the church hall to wherever they have their lunch?

Teachers are still waiting to hear what the mystery summer holiday provision will be. And will no doubt her at the same time as parents.

The government have really frigged it all up.
