Thanks for the card info. Will have to get a move on & look into it.
Re the calendars, they cost next to nothing to make. I got some small stickers ( 2"x1") issued them out to all the Teachers & included a class list so they could tick off everyone as they went along. The children had to draw themselves, with their names written underneath & I also asked various children to draw the Teachers, Dinner Ladies, TA's,even the lollypop man! Had to make sure I didn't leave anyone out. I had nightmares about Mum's chasing me round the playground cos their kids weren't on the calendar
I then stuck them onto an A4 sheet of paper, with the Class name at the bottom of the page. I did a page for every class, including TA's & Teachers then put Dinner Ladies etc on another page which still left us 2 pages short so we had a competition, one for Infants & one for the Juniors where they had to draw a November scene or a December scene. Most of them drew fireworks & Christmas. I was then really cheeky & went knocking at the door of a local Artist's Gallery to ask if he would judge the artwork for us. He very kindly picked two winners & even gave prizes for them & for some highly commended ones.
The School Secretary ordered the paper as it was a lot cheaper that way. I used cardboard for the front of the calendar which had the school logo on the front & then paper for the rest of the pages. November & December were in colour then the rest was in black & white. I was going to laminate them, but it would have worked out too expensive. Again the Secretary ordered the spiral thingys to hold them together & I then spent hours over the binder at School putting them all together.
We sold them at £3 for one of two for £5. They sold well but I do think we could have sold more if I had started them sooner, I hadn't taken into account how long it would take to get them all back & in hindsight I would probably have been better to use bigger stickers as it would have been easier to draw on, especially for the little ones. Only thing with doing it that way is that you have to have an ology in photocopiers to then reduce the pics down!
Gone on a bit havent I hope this tells you all you need to know, anything else, just ask
