Ancient Egypt? Start with Tutankhamun to get excited! Look at the resources at the British museum. Not sure if the Saatchi Gallery has their Tutankhamun exhibition on line. You could look at life of Pharaos, beliefs around death, building pyramids and tombs, agriculture, health etc. How did people live and cultivate the land? What were their Religious beliefs? How did they write? The Nile was central to the civilisation, why?

I’m sure there are resources on line and plenty of books. I would break the project down into bite sized pieces and not make it too broad. Try out some hieroglyphics!

Aren't the insides of tombs and pyramids a kind of maze?

Get them to watch some of the horrible histories episodes on the Egyptians. Buy the books as well.

DS enjoyed doing a story board with instructions on mummifying. Also looked at life of a slave forced into building the pyramids. You could tea stain some paper and get him to write a diary entry from the slave’s point of view.
