Hi,
My son has just been diagnosed with ASD and we are starting to look for primary school's for him in the North Liverpool area for Sept 2021.
Does anyone have any recommendations on schools with good SEN provisions please?

if you would consider a catholic primary school then have a look at st teresa of lisieux primary (link included to website). they have info about the SEN provision on the website but they have a dedicated teacher who ensures the students with SEN receive the help they need

Lots of schools are over subscribed so it would be useful to look at the schools in your local area/their admission criteria as well as their SEN provision before you set your heart on one. Also, visits to the school often give you a good feel for the ethos and provision that they have.

My cousin's children attend Emmaus on Croxteth Park, Liverpool 12 - one child has complex needs (autism, adhd, dyspraxia) and cousin said they have been amazing at the school, the senco is exceptional there and great support staff.
I think you have to live within a certain distance of the school though - it's heavily oversubscribed.

I can highly recommend Springwood Heath and Summerhill Primary. Both are fantastic schools with great SEN provision.

Sorry I know this was posted last year but I'm in the exact same position! I've chosen the school I would like him to attend but he's been identified recently as having ASD so I'm wondering if he will need to go to a specialist school? Obviously won't know yet as nursery has been delayed (thanks covid) but he's got an EHAT in place and I'm presuming a ehcp will also be put into place once he starts nursery.

Sorry I've just noticed the title says mainstream. Oops! I was wanting a bit more advice and suggestions on special schools.
