Just that, I heard someone talking about them on R 4 and thought AHA! that is what my sensitive dds need, and if the school doesn't do it (they don't, are academic hothouse) then maybe I can nick some of the ideas.

ANyone know anything? I think resilience, resourcefulness, .......... and?

I think you mean the 'Building Learning Power' project that was designed by Guy Claxton. I've heard good things about it from feinds who teach in schools who have trialled it whole-school. HTH

Oh, and the other bits are......

Resilience: knowing how to stick at it
Resourcefulness: the ability to learn in different ways
Reflectiveness: the ability to take stock of your learning
Reciprocity: or being able to learn on your own or with others

I'm too busy being a sahm to teach at the moment , but I still have lots of friends teaching, and try to stay a bit up to date with new stuff, hence I vaguely knew what you were talking about. I have no direct knowledge though. Hopefully someone on MN will actually have some direct experience (as a parent or teacher) so keep this bumped!

And do they like it? do they think it works?

DS has focussed on the first 2 at infant school - well he used the terms being resourceful and resilient quite a bit anyhoo...

think the other 2 will be mentioned in the juniors.

So it doesn't seem like yet another of those tick-boxy schemes? It has profound and real value?
