A friend's son has been offered Alleyn's and Dulwich (with a small scholarship) and is looking for viewpoints on which would be the better choice. Her son is very bright, quirky, loves history, maths and football. Please share your experiences and help her decide! Thanks so much.

There’s already a thread about these two.

We got offered the same (even down to the small scholarship from DC), and chose Alleyn’s. Ds now in the senior school, and have not regretted it. DC is more rugby than footie, I think, while Alleyn’s won the ISFA (?) cup recently. Have friends with kids in both who are happy though, so I doubt there's much in it. Only know of two boys who've left DC because they didn't like it (though I don't know of any who've left Alleyn’s for that reason, tbf!) Grin

Just in the interest of balance - I know of someone that left Alleyn's at 11+ for DC (about 3 years ago) due to low level bullying that they felt was not dealt with. Their sibling stayed at Alleyn's - both children are happy at their respective schools.

@ridinghighinapril : that is very interesting, so the parents decided to keep the sibling at Alleyns in spite of their other DC’s experience?

Thank you all so much!
