Did you press send too soon? Is there a second part to this?

GrannyBags · 30/01/2020 16:06

Did it hurt her eyes because she needs glasses?

picklesdragonisawelshdragon · 30/01/2020 16:27

So they showed an animation about sharing. The sharing bit was good, the animation was good, but the man was bad and it hurt her eyes?

Is it the animated man she didn't like? Or the man who showed them the animation?

I'm struggling a bit, to be honest.

GrannyBags · 30/01/2020 16:29

The man was bad and it scared her? Are you suggesting the film was not suitable for an 8 year old?

Herpesfreesince03 · 30/01/2020 16:30

Huh?

Sirzy · 30/01/2020 16:31

I’m not quite sure what the problem was supposed to be? Although if watching an animation hurts her eyes maybe she needs an opticians appointment

Cbeebieslover · 03/02/2020 02:02

fallfallfall · 03/02/2020 05:02

A cartoon?

ooooohbetty · 03/02/2020 05:52

No idea what you're on about

HoppingPavlova · 03/02/2020 06:14

You are not making any sense to be honest.

You’re DD is 8yo so unless there is some drip feed about SEN coming, she is old enough to adequately verbalise what the issue is.

Being scared of something does not make your eyes hurt so I would think maybe eye strain trying to see the screen or lighting and would get that checked out. I’m sure the video was age appropriate, schools are very particular about that. I would think if it’s a religious video and involved sharing maybe the man was Jesus? Maybe she is asking why he looked different as they would probably have made him look different him in some way to distinguish him as Jesus I would think. She needs to be be clearer as to what the issue is, which she can do at 8yo and you need to ask relevant questions as you seem to have fuck all idea as to what the issue is. Nor do the rest of us to be frank.

*Your

SanjiNami · 03/02/2020 15:08

You need to be more specific, otherwise we don't understand what is the problem. Is it the content, or actual animation(artwork) was scary, or something like flashing light hurt her eyes, etc.

Pinkflipflop85 · 03/02/2020 15:18

Say what now?!

Cbeebieslover · 05/02/2020 03:41

Its the artwork

spanieleyes · 05/02/2020 06:40

I think you need to use longer sentences!

oldfashionedtastingtea · 05/02/2020 07:03

Start with explaining the situation, including what it was, where it was, what it looks like, then tell us what your daughter said about it exactly and then end with a conclusion.

LouReidDododo · 05/02/2020 07:05

Was it a puppet? You have to explain more.

BuffaloCauliflower · 05/02/2020 07:08

You need to actually use whole sentences and explain yourself

Comefromaway · 05/02/2020 11:44

My daughter was terrified at school by Disney films shown during wet playtimes.

I think I understand the OP a bit. Some animations are scary. Also I can;t watch some visuals/animations as they make me feel nauseous/sick. If something is spinny or whirring or with flashing bits then I can imagine a child saying they make my eyes hurt rather than being able to say its the visual effects.

HoppingPavlova · 05/02/2020 13:24

Yes, but we are still none the wiser as to whether the problem is that the child found it scary or there is some type of visual acuity issue.

We had an opposite problem at one of my kids schools. Due to kids being so sensitive these days and parents being odd they would show seniors films such as Cars and Finding Nemo. Yep, if a film was shown at school (for instance there was some chemical leak that involved several teachers being carted off to hospital, a tree coming down on a classroom etc and so they bung on a film in the aftermath), they would put on Cars. For 17yo/18yo’s. Kids who drive to school and are legally allowed to drink in a pub. In case their parents rampaged up to the school complaining about inappropriate films damaging their kids in some way. Fucking ridiculous. In my day at that age schools showed movies like Grease and Alby Mangels (complete dickhead who pretended they were an adventurer and always had an off-sider wearing a small crochet bikini, generally named Michelle). We just found it hilarious. Parents would never have dreamed of going up to the school to complain about a film.

SanjiNami · 05/02/2020 22:02

Sorry, but I just can't think your post is serious enough. We all asked you to be specific. You can give us the relevant info. The name of the program shown if you know, or the specific details about the animation she was scared about, etc.
We all have same goal as parents, want our kids to have good experience at school. So we want to help each other.
I really don't get what you are trying to achieve, by posting vague comments, when the topic is quite serious.

RitaTheBeater · 05/02/2020 22:11

Are you asking a question or just telling us your dd was scared of an animation?

They probably won’t show it again.
