I am so excited for my DD to break up on the 19th December. This has been such a long term. It's cold and everyone's getting tired now. I am sort of used to her being at school now but the holidays feel such a treat. We are need a rest this time

I agree! That first term of reception is a real slog! Even with ks2 kids I'm dying for a break from the school run and rushed mornings!

Agree. I'm fed up of the rushing about in the mornings and poor DC2 being shortchanged as there's no time to do anything once he's woken from his nap to then do pick up.

It feels like they've only just gone back after half term! I love being in school at this time of year and my dc are excited for the next few weeks' events in school (party day, performance, school trip, Xmas dinner etc) and don't seem overly tired though. As for me, the more work I can get (supply teacher) and the more money I can earn the easier it'll be for us for Christmas so I'm selfishly glad that it's a long term!

Yes I can imagine in certain jobs the relief of them being at school is huge. I'm definitely looking forward to a break from early starts, rushing, school runs, early nights and stuff. Family time is so rare now.
