Community peads appointment/meeting with school

My 5 year old has been under peads since she was 2. Had a preschool group assessment at 3yr2m which had her very close to the ASD line so needed a wait and see.

I posted another thread about before and after school meltdowns. Then she had one in school and they have set up earlier finishes and later starts etc.

Her well overdue community peads appointment has arrived for 2 weeks time.

Would I be reasonable to request a meeting with school beforehand?

I'm unsure how on board they are and if there is anything from their perspective that I need to address. I may well find they have zero concerns in terms of needing assessment but I absolutely don't know where I stand. I'd also like to find out if there's any support for her in place at school as there has been lots of discussions but I'm unaware of any doing.

What sort of things should I be asking? I feel so utterly overwhelmed

Definitely.
Ask to see the SENCo and ask them if they have a developmental profile you can take a copy of, to the Paediatrician appt. Ask if they would have time to write out some bullet points of their concerns / any issues they see in school.

Heavens yes, I write letters every week in support of paediatric referrals. In my county, ASD and ADHD referrals are through the GP to the community paediatrician and they find it really helpful to have supporting information from a different setting ( school and home) in order to indicate the extent and impact of any problems.

Yes. My daughter is older but we took a referal from school outlining their concerns and what the support they already offer is. (Her IEP.)

Thank you.

So an outline of their concerns and how she is in class is the way to go?

They only accepted there's an issue two weeks ago and keep talking about support but none of it has materialised yet.

Yes.
You put I posted another thread about before and after school meltdowns. Then she had one in school and they have set up earlier finishes and later starts etc.

So, as the school consider her meltdowns to be significant enough to put her on a reduced timetable, then they need to put that as one of the points they make in their report.
The fact 'there have been lots of discussions' (I'd also like to find out if there's any support for her in place at school as there has been lots of discussions but I'm unaware of any doing.) means they must have had concerns over a period of time, and, potentially around different aspects of her needs? So again that needs to go in their report / letter.

The issue of you not seeing them making adjustments / putting things in place to support her is obviously important enough to have a sit down meeting about, but, in a way, a issue that runs alongside the issue of you gathering evidence for the Paediatrician appointment.
Personally I'd ask if I could have a letter to take - say by the end of this week - and then, separately, also ask for an appointment to see what is going to be put in place for her.
