mainstream to Montessori at older age

I wonder if you would be able to shed some light... I've been very fond of Montessori since forever but couldn't find that ideal place for DD1 when searching schools in the past - she is now in year 4 in a traditional prep. DD2 is a toddler and I'm very much in a position to get her into a lovely Montessori school (I believe it would fit her like a glove). I wonder about moving DD1 as well... I tend to think she will enjoy the freedom and free thinking etc but it's a massive change in every single aspect. AND it's not impossible she would have to move back to a traditional secondary school in a few years. Does anyone have experienced moving an older child into Montessori? Thank you!

I would not move your older DD if you think she has to move into traditional school for high school. She only has a few years left...not worth the upheaval unless you're moving house.

I moved my children into a very different system because we emigrated. They were 11 and 6. They managed fine.
