Good resources for English and Maths

I am an ex primary school teacher but have not taught in the UK for more than ten years. Because we are about to move abroad, I want to have the resources to teach my kids both English and Maths at home, but I'm out of touch with the UK curriculum and what good resources to use. My kids are 6 and 9, so I need resources with cover almost the entire primary phase (my 6 year old is still very much learning to read so I would like to start again at the beginning with phonics etc). Can anyone suggest some good English and Maths schemes that I could buy and use to teach my kids at home?

If you want the program that covers UK NC abroad, best one I can think of is IXL. Covers from reception to yr13.

I don't really need the whole curriculum to be tailored to people who are abroad though, I am happy to use UK based resources too. I just mentioned going abroad to explain the context.

Ok I've had a look at this now. What I was looking for more is a scheme I can teach them myself at home, more like what a teacher would use to guide them in class, rather than an online resource.

Oh wow! Thanks guys. Yes I have looked at the National Curriculum, but I'm also looking for teaching resources to help me. I want to give the kids the best possible support I can, so looking for some good resources to guide me and them through the curriculum. The White Rose Maths is amazing! Thank you for that. I can see how I could work through that step by step and be sure my DS and DD are getting the right kind of questions and material. Can anyone recommend something for English? I'd be happy to pay for it if it's paid resources, either on or offline. Same for maths, I'd be happy to look at any supplementary resources or paid for schemes too.

Class room secrets is great for maths. It follows the White rose small steps. It costs £45 for the year and gives you loads of maths questions and power points. It's differentiated 3 ways too. I highly recommend it. I'm a primary teacher

White Rose have their own resources which are £19.99 per year group as well as lots of free materials

Classroom Secrets and Twinkl are your friends. Twinkl is used a LOT in schools, perhaps too much.

Thanks a lot everyone. It's really helpful. I remember when I was teaching (a looooong time ago) we used to get sets of books to follow for each year group, and in those days there was some publishers or schemes that were clearly much better than others. And I'm so out of touch these days I was wondering what kind of stuff is the best today. I'm loving the White Rose site though, that's incredibly helpful, and thinking about taking out a membership with either Classroom Secrets or Twinkle. Thanks a lot guys for the help.

There are three per year group one for each term and are good value

I am looking for a new curriculum to use for my daughter for January for English year 7. We are currently using white rose education for her maths and we really like it. Is there anything similar available for English? I like the prerecorded lessons and would ideally like something similar. Any advice appreciated.

Classroom Secrets is awful - they think that greater depth Maths questions should just be the same as the expected ones, just with bigger numbers 🙄

Twinkl is indeed one to avoid, apart from their Diving into Mastery Maths materials, which are surprisingly good.

I’d recommend Literacy Shed for reading and writing and Spelling Shed for spelling.

Twinkl is full of mistakes in my experience. IXL is over-priced and hasn't been updated in years. Atom is private/grammar school entry-exam focussed. Numerous other apps are...questionable at best.

I know Exam Ninja do international delivery (as do CGP if you enquire directly). I'd look to order some books and get them delivered, together with working directly on the National Curriculum.
