Most impressive primary school (state or private) you’ve ever visited?

Went on a school tour this week for a school I was mega excited about (a private school). Left feeling a little underwhelmed... but wonder if any school is really going to wow me!

Wondering what the most impressive school you’ve all visited was? And what was so good about the school?

What (rough idea) area are you looking in OP? Some of us might be able to give you ones to go see?

My dc’s tiny rural school: in an old-fashioned school house, with the occasional sheep getting into the playground, and a real sense of warmth between the pupils. Only a handful in each year. We visited on a random day and in the younger class they were all pink cheeked from just being outside and were drinking hot chocolate as they read to themselves or each other. The older ones were doing science and all seemed really engaged and interested. The teacher’s dog was wandering round the classroom.

I haven’t seen the school of my dreams

But I would say trust your instincts op! Both schools my dds attending the niggles I had later were visible at the open day

Heathside NW3.

My niece started this year..... its under new management and WOW really really exceptional. Child centered, creative, play based, forest school, every child learning an instrument and so many clubs from Chess (in reception!) to fencing and capoeria! ..... and the 11+ results are great ...although a little down the line for us!

The infants I moved my kids to. Head who stopped and chatted in depth to every child she came across, classrooms with a real buzz about the place, a very well pitched and engaging curriculum and staff who are seriously fantastic. Was such a right fit for my kids I cried when I left the tour as I just wanted them in there so badly. Incidentally not the school with lovely wide grounds and a school field - but the school with a nature reserve around the corner that the kids were up using every week, and a massive puddle on the playground that reception had taken the opportunity to junk model boats and test them sailing across.

NOT the local one with beautiful new buildings, shiny technology and kids in a uniform so identikit they look like they've been cloned.
