School shoes - budget

Hi there, I need to buy some new school shoes for my Little boy who is heading into year 1. We are now on a bit of a budget. Normally buy Clarke's or start rite etc but wondered if anyone has cheaper recommendations for good quality reasonably priced shoes that will last the year that are not in the c£45 price bracket? Thanks

Just got DS some Toezone shoes from TU sainsburys. They seem really good quality and have 25% off tight now.

We've bought from Next (pretty but rubbed as too stiff in the wrong places, didn't last as they fell apart quickly), Asda (comfortable, the uppers wore well, but the soles didn't last very well, they were surprisingly soft & just wore through), & Clarke's (best of the bunch but expensive). I always look in TK Maxx in case they have Start Rite, Geox etc, but usually go to the Clarke's outlet shop once a year & get DD a few pairs - school, trainers, & at least one other pair for parties etc. I buy wellies in Mountain Warehouse in the sale.
