I am thinking of delaying my DS' school start. Due to start next September 2020. He is a summer born with a speech delay. Still a few months to decide before applications but I'm thinking it over with DH.

My question if he stays on at preschool will he only get 15 hours or can I still get the 30 hours ( assuming I'm working as I do now) anyone experienced this ?

Yes, you can claim the 30 hours until term after the child’s 5th birthday.

We deferred our August born ds with asd, best thing we did. He is very settled in his current cohort. I don’t see any negatives.

I can't think of any negatives really either apart from DS is physically very tall. He already looks 5 now at not even 3 Hmm

My ds is tall too, he wasn’t but had a growth spurt. I think for boys though being tall is seen as a good thing.

What? So I could have had my son's aftwr school club paid for??

MyDcAreMarvel · 12/07/2019 20:57

No it’s only if they aren’t at school.

No, why would you think that? These are the preschool hours.

Oh ok, thanks. We got the 30 hours when he was at preschool, then I went on Mat leave. We have been paying for after school club since Jan and I only just got a message saying his free hours had stopped. I had assumed they'd stopped so I don't know why we only just the message. Thanks all.
