So dd3 school gives out Headteacher Awards randomly. Dd3 received one this week but her name did not appear on the newsletter.
It almost feels like she received it because she didn’t get one during the year. It was similar in reception where she received one late for almost a non reason.
So should I point out their omission or will I sound like that parent?
For reference dd2 used to get these awards for barely breathing but dd1 was overlooked and on the one occasion she received an award she was also omitted from newsletter in error so maybe I am projecting,
So what should I do please

I wouldn;t mention it. I mean, does your DD even read the newsletter? How old is she?

Jencottage · 08/07/2019 01:50

You will sound like that parent, she does not care if her name is in the newsletter or not. You do. She's three, celebrate with her, no need to parade her progress and achievements in front of the other parents.

Jencottage · 08/07/2019 01:51

Apologies I just misread your post - how old is DD ?

GooGoo52 · 08/07/2019 01:56

I wouldn't say anything. You will definitely be THAT parent. It was probably just a simple error, as it's a busy time at schools.

Topttumps · 08/07/2019 02:28

I probably won’t say anything. She is 5 nearly 6.

My dc1 hasnt even received it this year. I actually dont care.
It's a load of rubbish they never get it for actual achievement so it has no meaning. They give it to new starters. So pointless I actually cant be bothered reading it in the newsletter as it's all 'x is the most smily, loves learning, great example,

At the moment some staffrooms around the country are home to people who look like the have stumbled up a railway embankment.
There's reports, sports day, the summer production, kids meeting their new teachers, knowing that some staff are leaving - even if the parents don't know, there's new kids coming into Reception and the endless home visits plus smiling as people say, "Oh you must be winding down now."
So behalf of all of those in education - we are trying, we are sorry.

Why are you bothered that she isn’t in the newsletter? What difference does it make? A 5 year old is really not going to care. Don’t be that parent.
