Mersey/cheshire mums - primary school

I am looking for advice - me and my husband are completely stressing ourselves of this.
We live in an area which is pretty deprived and the schools are all under special measures. The area itself is not great, gangs, drugs etc.. We have never had a problem in the house at all and have always felt safe. We bought this house when we were young and no family so didn't consider schools.
We put our house up for sale and it is not selling, we have now decreased the value by 10k.
Me and my husband are in good paid jobs.
We are thinking we may have to part exchange into a new build to actually get this house sold.
Now our dilemma is schools and areas. With my job i travel all around merseyside (year by year) so come august i will be over on the wirral but after that i could be in crewe.

Looking at schools i have seen warrington have some great primary schools, very impressive performance scores. We have not found any new builds we love. We have heard amazing things about living on the wirral such as west kirby, hoylake etc...which we love but there is no new builds. The only new builds currently is in upton and the schools are currently as bad where we are living. But they do have the good grammer schools.
The other places we have thought of are potentially chester, lymm (again no new builds).
We just don't know what to do for the best.

One other option is our son could potentially go to private school and we keep our house on the market until it does sell and move into a new catchment area?
We are thinking in the next year or so TTC for number 2.
Could anyone help with our dilemma?
Thank you so much in advance x

I’m not in the area but I would have a ring around the big developers and see if there’s any proposed build upcoming in any of those areas. You’ve got lots of options area wise.
Developers likely to give you a reduced offer for part ex or not included extras/reduced asking price so might be worthwhile dropping price again to sell on open market?

Have you looked at the Hartford/Northwich area? Lots of new builds around, excellent schools (state and private) and good rail and road links.

On the wirral I would suggest you look at Redrow ledsham development which is 2000 houses and a new primary school or Palladium Gardens at Hooton, just near the station for Liverpool and Chester., which is 265 houses. No new school for this site and schools are a bit of a distance away but good schools around.

I second considering Hartford / Northwich and mid Cheshire in general. Lots of new builds in winnington area of Northwich but no infrastructure has been built alongside it. Hartford has a train station with regular services and is on the Crewe to Liverpool line. Kingsmead in Northwich is not brand new but purpose built estate (with infrastructure!) so possible worth a look. I think there is some new building work going on around Kingsmead, Davenham Hartford which is right on the bypass for quick access to main commuter routes.

Ps schools in mid Cheshire (primary and secondary) are generally pretty good. There’s also private schools like The Grange or Cransley

If you're looking at Upton, have you looked at schools in Greasby? Two are outstanding, two are good.

Sorry, Greasby is next door to Upton and there is also a very small new build development of just four houses www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-78597866.html

Obviously I don't know your circumstances but you may get the children in to Greasby schools from Upton, or these houses in Greasby might be suitable?
