I'm expecting my first but I'm pretty unaware when it comes to school in the mornings and how to get through without the day beginning badly. Remembering from my childhood, it was always a struggle. I know it's a long way off but any advice now would be greatly appreciated, thanks

As you're still pregnant, I would completely forget about all of this for the next 3 years! 😀

Honestly @liz208, you have so much to experience before then; you haven't even met your child yet!

When the time does come, it's like most things with parenting, you just deal with it. I have two DDs in primary school, and some mornings are fine and some are awful. You muddle through!

I'm not a morning person at all and usually chasing my own tail, when I (pre-baby) used to see people with babies up and out at 8am I was amazed at the ability to be up with a baby when I could hardly get myself up.

Years on, I was doing the same, getting DD off to the childminder.

Now I'm a childminder I can get 6 kids out and to school, never, ever late.

You will do what needs to be done - meanwhile enjoy your pregnancy Flowers

Enough time, a good routine (including early bedtime) so the kid knows exactly what's coming next and what's expected of them and as much as possible ready in advance (school uniform laid out, book bag by the door etc).

I don't understand what you're asking....? When you have a child at school you get up with enough time for breakfast, getting dressed, packing bags and then leave with commute time factored in. What is the question exactly?

I will offer no advice because me and mine were terrible at getting up and out in the morning. After a while I just accepted it and relaxed.

You'll probably be fine. Don't worry about it now, you've a long way to go yet.
