I would actually say Manor Lodge (sorry, i know it wasn't on your list!), but they do an amazing job of getting the kids into their first choice school x

Thanks, but I just have these 2 options (St John northwood or Radlett prep) available please can any one share which school is better in terms of teaching, sports an over all development?

You won't get in either of those two senior schools at 11+ because of the gentleman's agreement (they don't "poach" from the 4-13 preps) - you'd need to transfer at 7+ , or 13+ via the Common Entrance.

I expect someone will be along in a while whose child is or has been at one of those to give you a heads-up. I can't help there... sorry.

@moonbells that’s total nonsense as Radlett prep only goes to 11 so if the OP chooses that school then 11+ is absolutely when she would go to the mentioned secondary

Blush Thanks @Applesbananaspears St John's is definitely a 13+ though!

Are you thinking of trying for Habs boys at 5? Basically neither of these schools will prepare you for 7+ so you'll be doing it on your own. So really your decision is do you want to to do 11+ or CE? personally I'd go for 11+ as the number of places at 13 is dwindling year on year.

No not at 5+ but I will try at 7+ then at 11+ if required, MTS or Harbs my preference.
Radlett prep is slightly closer to my place. I think (need advice pls) they prepare kids in year 6 for multiple schools whereas St John's might prepare for MTS only at 11+ or 13+.

I was told St Johns changing their approach & will prepare kids for 11+ going forward (which to me looks strange as why would they want kids leave them at 11).

I want a school which have extra curricular activities plus good academics. Its too early to judge which sports/activity or subject my child will be more interested in. Does Radlett prep has good sports options too?
