SEN 6 year old spitting

Can I ask what your school would be doing in the following circumstance?
6 year old undiagnosed (but clearly SEN) child had spat at other children on at least 3 occasions. Child is awaiting ADHD and autism diagnosis. Incidents happen in unstructured times ie. at lunch and on the playground.

What would the inital reaction be? How would it be dealt with? What would/could the school put in place to prevent escalation of this behaviour? Would you expect closer supervision of the child in social situations?

Why is it your business? How do you know of the instances and what do you want the school to do about it?

As it is you wouldn’t get told anything other than that they are dealing with it. The other child and family are entitled to confidentiality while they are going through a horrible stressful time.

He is my son. I'm wanting to put some ideas together before I speak to the SendCo and his class teacher further.

I am not sure what to expect, as I don't want to be unrealistic and come across badly.

He isn't doing the behaviour in my presence, he has done it when under the care of the Nanny (when I am at work) and in school. It is hard to deal with when I don't see the incidents to understand why he is acting out in this way.

Ask them to report all incidents in a parent/home book
Log what was happening before and during etc and how not was dealt with so you can see if there’s a pattern
I doubt they could offer supervised lunch times, but could the nanny offer to watch him or could you offer tomboy for supervision temporary? Dinner staff aren’t paid much so it won’t be a lot! Worth an ask

Ds would be put into nurture group at lunchtime with structured activities to improve social skills. Is the spitting a defence mechanism or a sensory issue? Someone suggested a small piece of Perspex children can spit on if it’s sensory.

My DS has been spitting at us but now has stopped (diagnosed ADHD).
I would expect an ABC chart (they are available online and there's an app which the nanny may like!)
We have been ignoring it as it was almost always at home when we said no to something, we jar to react strongly and that was reinforcing for him, and he has also been aggressive so we focussed on that (with a time out) and both have decreased.
