Canterbury - switching for Y4?

Hoping to pick brains. DD is 7 and was diagnosed with mild dyslexia. However the centre was clear she had benifitted from good phonics extras (she was in an extra session in her current school) so they suggested without that her dyslexia would be more apparent and she wouldn't be hitting expected.

So roll on to this year, where I had been very happy with the school. Unfortunately in this last year dd's reading has taken a severe nose dive. Last year she was at the bottom end of the top group for reading. She started this year being a free reader. However (I presume because of her dyslexia) they won't let her read free reader books in school time. She told me this and i've asked the teacher who said it might well change, however it hasn't and dd has now had the same (yellow and one we read in Y1 which I noted in her reading diary for several others as well) book in her bag for several months. I ask her every morning to swap it. I've bought her other books for home, I read to her every night but I simply can't get her to read. I'm really annoyed as we had such a good routine and now it feels as though she simply doesn't believe she can do it.

Other than that, the school has had more children tested for dyslexia and now it seems the SEN is being shared between them all. She has plateau'd and doesn't seem to care that she "isn't good at English" any more. It breaks my heart.

So I've taken the opinion that, as she has an SEN which I can see is holding her back at a State Primary, I would rather she was being inspired. I am considering going back to work and will use my income for her schooling.

So (sorry for long backstory!) I'd love to pick brains on which Indie/Private is best for SEN? I have heard good things about KCC? Also if there are hidden extras in the costs, could you let me know roughly how much? I don't want to accept a job too soon if I need to hold on for more income. Is it worth looking outside Canterbury? I don't want her to board (maybe flexi could be useful though!).

Huge thanks in advance.
