Nursery Intervention- Early Talk Boost

Does anyone have any experience of this programme? My DS is in a school nursery and he is July born.
He really enjoys nursery but they have identified that he is quiet and passive and doesn't extend his sentences or always show understanding. They said he is borderline but they want to put him into this intervention. They also said he is reluctant to do mark making and struggles to decide what to do, relying on a particular friend to choose. They are concerned he won't be school ready..

I am obviously pleased that they want to support him but I am a little surprised that they feel he has a problem. He's so noisy at home and chats all the time, we read etc but he is quite reliant on his sister I agree.

Anyway, as I said I am pleased he is getting help but I am not sure what speech and language means in this context and what sort of activity they will do. Has anyone had an early intervention - or in fact teaches it- and can tell me whether it has had a strong outcome and what I can do to support around it? I already do the things on the list like read with him, eat with him at the table and try to talk to him about his day so I'm not sure what else I can do to help.

I have done the EY Talk Boost training and think it’s really great. We tend to use the Ks1 TB pack where I am now though.

It’s basically a 10 week speaking and listening intervention to support mild language delay. Generally not used for children with SEN, but those who just need a little extra. It’s fab-do a search for it and you’ll find some more info.

Thanks Holidayshopping there was no suggestion of SEN so hopefully it'll give him a little boost
