Beach Schools

Looking to move to a new build. The local school is a beach school. Anyone got experience of this? Can’t contact the school as it’s closed for the holidays.

Presumably you're near the coast Doesn't it just mean that, in the junior years, the children spend a couple of hours a week on the beach? It's the equivalent of a forest school in a different location.

Yes, it’s near the coast. Ofsted and results look good. What do you think we should be asking about it when we visit?

No different to what I'd ask when looking at any other school except to ask what year groups participate in beach school, how often they use it & for how long. I have more experience of Forest school. Some schools have really embrace it and use it very imaginatively; others just do it as it sounds good on the website.

They just go to the beach regularly. Like forest school but at the beach. What do you need to ask?

Yep, no different to Forest School. Just ask how often each child has Beach School. You'll probably find they do it once a week for a term in Y4. Not half the day, every day, year round like you are imagining.

Like others I assume the beach school aspect just means they go to the beach for outside education etcmaybe an afternoon a week at most. I would just ask what you would for any other school.
