Any parent/carers out there with primary aged children attending a Chester school; specifically East side i.e. Hoole etc.

After local advice please

The answer does somewhat depend on whether you are looking for a place in reception / infant class or whether it is an in-year admission. All the schools in the area are good or better schools according to Ofsted but many are full so you may struggle to get a place mid-year, especially at infant level.
You may also want to think (depending on which year group you are looking for) about the secondary school you would want your child to get into. The current "go to" school at secondary level is Christleton High, so you might think about living in catchment for Christleton High and looking for a place at one of Christleton High's partner schools. Those nearest Hoole area would be Cherry Grove, Oldfield, Christleton Primary and Boughton Heath. I would suggest the choice of school is going to be which one you feel most comfortable when visiting and who has a place.

Hello

Thank you for replying to my very unclear post!

I have spoken with the school admission team, and schools directly so I know which schools are currently available for an immediate, in-year transfer.

Short list so far, according to where we are hopefully moving:
Hoole CofE, Grosvenor, St Martin's or perhaps Cherry Grove.

Obviously we have read reports, where available (Grosvenor is very new) - I was just hoping for local opinion, as we don't know anyone and haven't had a response on the local boards.

Thank you
