Jumper theft

Just need a rant to be honest, if my son came home with some one else's clothes (jumper in my case) I would 100% send it back in the next day

I'm annoyed as I've had to go out and spend £15 on a new one as someone has kept his grrrrrrr

Sorry rant over

Get used to it! Still happens in high school. This is why my scgool aged DC all have 5 skirts/trousers, 5 jumpers and 10 shirts so they have plenty of spares. Annoying isn't it!

They aren’t always taken home by someone else - once got handed back my DS jumper which had been stuffed down the back of a toy shed in the playground (by him) and left there all summer holidays. Went straight in the bin anyway as was so damp and smelly!!

Is it primary, £15 seems very expensive, no wonder people are stealing them

We wrote the surname in coloured sharpie in huge block caps down the arm or across the shoulders. That stopped the oops I kept forgetting to return and the snipping out of neck label with name tag.

Hah.

I take mine to an embroidery shop and have their name put on it under the school badge (it's about £4).
I've once overheard a mum saying, "Well just go get a nice one out the lost and found!" To her child who came out of school and shown her that they had torn their jumper sleeve that day.
People are shits.

Have you looked at lost and found at school? If it's named, you might find it. I really don't think primary aged children willingly steal someone else's jumper.

My DD went to a prep school and another child took her cape from the cloakroom and stuffed it In a cupboard in a music practice room. It was found 3 weeks later. Cost of cloaks: £80 (15 years ago!) It was deliberately put there. However, it was found!

Yes, if my DDs picked up something by mistake I returned it as soon as I read the name tag! However they do borrow sports kit as they get older. That’s another minefield!

Flibbertygiblet- so doing that!!

He said he put it on another peg so pretty confident someone took it home

Bought another one now anyway
