what can i get to support key stage 2-3

My ds is 7 and just leaving year 2 and going to year 3 in september. I was wondering if anyone knew of any support materials i could use to help him along at home? He really loves doing extra work at home but i'm running out of ideas with my little brain! Is there a big book that i can use to set him work that runs along with what hes doing at school?

have been using schofield and sims workbooks for a few years with all dc's - our local library sells them as does other bookshops not too many gimmicks and reasonable cost
range from nursery level up to post year 6 work

Moving from key stage 1 to 2. Not KS3 - that's secondary.

A website trialling in schools for KS2 at the minute is based for children with a bit of fun with Pirates and winning gold. It may help www.keystagetwo.com :)

sep have a chat to the Y3 teacher see what they recommend (something that compliments the school's methods is best all round).
If the school uses workbooks/sheets then hydro's suggestion may be ok it wouldn't fit in with our teaching however.
In your title you have stated Key Stage 2-3 which is what meandmyflyingmachine meant

You are right to be selective. A book with a broad level of KS2 would be too complex for a child just leaving KS1. It will be geared for children up to Year 6 and no matter how much your child loves the work, that could put him off for life! A quick chat to hsi current teacher (and new Y3 teacher as mrz suggested) would be best to point you in the right direction, as she/he knows your DS's strengths and weaknesses and can hopefully suggest where it is best to focus.
