Yes I rushed and didnt check too

dd1 is opposite -takes painstaking ages and never finishes

dd2 is a rusher - knows she can do it and just wants to get through quickly so she can muck about instead - needs several small tasks one after the other to keep her concentrations going

I am sure you could come up with some one liner for DH, surely?!

Sounds like DS is doing just fine though. The rushing is an easy one to work on compared to other stuff, and will probably come with time.

Just don't let him near a computer for typing his corusework

Parent's evening for us tonight too. Must be that time of the year.

Aloha · 25/06/2007 14:36

You rush and don't check? Really? I am

Ds is me in so many ways. On school trip to seaside comes downstairs with four books 'to read on the beach'.
Can't run to save his life.

Cappuccino · 25/06/2007 14:37

arfity arf

love 'need to take time to write them in full'

never mind, I was a perfectionist swot who had no friends. Far rather be a bit slapdash tbh

The codling will do swimmingly! He'll sail through his 11+

My mental arithmetic is very poor. Literature was my strong suit ... we'll have to see how my ds pans out. He's not old enough for school yet.

Enid · 25/06/2007 14:38

cod it wouldn't be all bad if he ended up like you you know

not sucking up to you cod, but you havebntm done badly with your 'education weaknesses' have you?

or is it all an online front?

he'll be fine.

ahundredtimes · 25/06/2007 14:39

But but but didn't they mention his sporting prowess?
Rushing and inattention to detail, we get that all the time. Poor presentation too.

I don't mind that, it's the euphamisms I don't like, they get you thinking. DD's teacher said 'she's a free spirit isn't she?' and I nodded, but really I wanted to say, now what EXACTLY do you mean by that?

Cappuccino · 25/06/2007 14:40

I never walked the mile

I barely made it to the end of 100m god people were pissing themselves

Cappuccino · 25/06/2007 14:40

misdee cod is a lady who lunches you know

you only need the maths for dividing up the bill at Harvey Nicks

Quattrocento · 25/06/2007 14:42

that doesn't sound bad! That sounds good! Anyhow being a stronger candidate for the 11+ (do they have that your way) means just that. And why is being like you bad anyway?

If that was what you wanted to say, 100x, why didn't you say it?

Because deep down I knew she meant just what Cod says she means, and I didn't want to go into it AT ALL. I wanted to get up off the little reception chair and leg it.

Oh and love teacher speak in reports and on parent's evening. Seeing it from the other side now DD is at school is really bizarre. Oh I just so know what they are really saying, lol!

Quattrocento · 25/06/2007 14:46

Yes you were scared. They put you on one of those little chairs and it sends you right back to being six again ...

ahundredtimes · 25/06/2007 14:47

Ah yes, we're all floating and wafting around this house every day. Pursuing our own selfish interests. DS1's parent's evening was weird this term. I said, I am inappropriate at parent's evenings - I get nervous and stupid - 'Do you think he's a bit odd?' and his teacher said 'There is room.'
That was it! lol. I legged it out of there too.
