Confidentiality

If you work in a school - teacher, assistant, volunteer etc - do you have to sign a confidentiality agreement?

I have a friend who works in a primary school and she talks about the pupils she works with a lot, not in a nice way either.

For example - I know that a mutual friends son is constantly losing play times due to his rudeness.

She needs reporting to her school. That is totally unacceptable behaviour and contrary to Teaching Standards.

She shouldn't be talking about her time in class. She's clearly not suitable. The school need to know.

Completely unprofessional. I would make this known to the head of the school. I had to sign a confidentiality agreement just as a reading volunteer and wouldn't dream of sharing what I heard or saw in school to other parents or mutual friends. How would she feel if school staff shared stories and personal details of any children she may have to others???

I doubt she'd have to sign a confidentiality agreement, but I imagine it's part of the school policies that she's bound by and her professional standards.
