How often is a good (with one outstanding area) school OFSTED inspected?

I have a suspicion that the kids’ school is about to be OFSTEDed. Main factors for thinking that were:-

Last inspected early 2013. (Got Good with Outstanding for one section.)
Change of Head since then.
Became an academy a few months ago.
School has suddenly gone crazy about “clubs” this term. Seems to be huge amounts available - far more than ever before. (My eldest is in Year 4 so I have a few years to compare with.)

So what do people reckon? Does it sound like they are expecting inspectors?

If it has converted to an academy it won't be inspected for up to 3 years, normally within the third year of operation.

The Government has a policy statement on how often academy converters or change of status schools will be inspected. That’s the best guide.

Usually every 3 years, but if you become an academy they give you an extra year to get things in order. So yes it will be on the cards.

I was listening to something on the radio about schools looking like they were improving overall, but it being down to "needs improvement " ones being revisited by Ofsted more frequently until they could show they were good, but outstanding ones not being revisited for years in which time they could be going downhill without anyone knowing.

Good was put up to five years max in April.

Thanks all! Sounds like my suspicions were right. I shall wait and see.....

I can also assure you that the number of clubs makes virtually no difference to Ofsted. It’s a “nice to have” but really won’t be the focus of an Ofsted visit! Try looking at their progress data, staff quality, turnover of staff and how their Sats data compares with other schools. Ofsted have no knowledge of clubs, but they do have access to data about how the school performs. If they are doing really well, Ofsted will have more pressing engagements elsewhere!

Local "outstanding" schools haven't been inspected in over a decade but academy conversation could change things which makes me wonder why they've converted.
