15 free hours in reception year (summer born)?

I suspect this question has been asked before but I can't find the answer so here goes. My child will start in reception in Sept 2019. She will not be 5 until the end of the school year (late July birth). While she is 4 and at school, will I still get 15 free hours to use at out-of-school club (it's a registered provider).
Thanks!

Nope, sorry. Free hours end once they start school

I'm sure once you start school then the free hours end

I thought that might be the case but worth an ask as the council's website suggests it goes on until they reach compulsory school age which would be at the end of reception.
Thanks.

It does continue to CSA if you don’t take up the reception place but it’s one or the other.

This says it stops when you start reception and only continues to compulsory school age if they stay in nursery until then

If they take up a place at school they lose the entitlement.

My DS is 3 and because he is at school for 12.5 hours a week at nursery, he is only entitled to 17.5 hours elsewhere.

If they'e at private school I know that they get 15 free hours of their school fees covered until CSA however if they're in state school I'm pretty sure since they're already getting more than 15 hours of childcare provided for them they don't get extra on top of that.

The school gets the funding, so it’s still paid for your child but not for our-of-school childcare.

resipsa · 10/09/2018 18:19

Ah yes, that makes sense - if she didn't go to school with her cohort, I could still have her in funded childcare for those hours until age 5. Thanks for the clarification.

When I enquirered about the possibility of this at my DSs school, they said they would not be willing to continue his school nursery place even if the funding covered him. Hopefully the policies of private day nurseries are more flexible though.
