Pre-prep/prep schools in Wimbledon which stay open a bit longer?

Hi all Mums,
looks like we might be moving from north London to Wimbledon area.
Our DS is due in November and I'm thinking of putting a deposit down for some pre-prep/prep schools in case the state that we're allocated turns out to be not great.

Both my partner and I work, so a school that stays open a bit longer would be ideal - there is one in Hampstead which does 7.45 to 5.45pm, is there anything similar in Wimbledon?
We wouldn't, obviously, sacrifice the quality of education for that, and I'd rather cut the hours at work/seek to have some flexible arrangement, should it turn out that the only good schools are those that finish days at 3pm or so.

Most schools have after school and breakfast clubs (its called wrap around care in the school lingo)

You can determine which state school you’ll get by where you move to. Ask the council about the catchment areas for each school and the ofstead ratings.

Personally I would focus on this at this stage - you can always buy private if you need to at a later stage (you don’t need to put names down at birth )

The school I’m at (not in Wimbledon but we have kids who come from Wimbledon) offers care from 7.45am and the latest children can leave is 5.05pm. Effectively works out longer if you take the school bus, as the late bus leaves about 5.20pm.

Don't know about Wimbledon specifically as we were Putney but some of the preps we looked at for my boys had good wraparound options. Others had pretty much nothing.
Hurlingham for example was one with great provision I recall. Some were much more geared towards 2 working parents than others. I wouldn't worry about rushing into it though. Wait until your baby is here and you're up to going to look at some schools and then register. If he's November birthday you have a good 3ish years before time would become tight to register.
