Healthy snack ideas for school

Ds has just started reception, and we have been asked to send him in with a healthy snack for break time.

Now, ds is a fussy bugger, he won’t eat fruit very often (but will eat dried fruit stuff like the Bear Claws, fruit yo-yos etc). The last couple of days I’ve sent him with cucumbers sticks and a babybel, this morning I have packed carrot sticks and cheese, but although I know he will eat these, I need to have a bit of variety for him!

What else can I choose? Will the fruit bars from the supermarket count as a healthy snack or too sugary? (I mean the 100% fruit ones)

Any ideas welcome please

Crackers and cheese, no sugar banana muffins or banana pancakes (I cook loads on one go and put them in the freezer, yogurt, Spinach tortellini (in a tupperware pot with a little fork), cheese muffins (usually add bits of pepper, left over cooked meat, sweetcorn/whatever they enjoy - can be frozen too).

I really wouldn't worry too much though, by the time you get to Y1 you'll be cycling through the same old snacks - if it's relatively healthy and he'll eat it don't worry!

Thanks, great ideas. He loves spinach tortellini, I wouldn’t have thought of packing that.
I just see everyone else rock up with a piece of fruit, which would be infinitely easier but he wouldn’t eat it.

Lidl sells packs of mini-cucumbers and mini-peppers which are quite good for snacks. Baked crisps like Mini Cheddars aren't too bad either.

flapjack (bought or home-made)
fruit cake (dried fruit in another form)
Little sandwiches
Any fruit they'll eat

DS2 likes to take in cold roast potatoes ...

I thought they were supposed to get state funded snacks in Reception and KS1.

Aparantley they get a school snack in the afternoon (he’s only doing mornings at the moment though)
