Stamptastic-worth the money?

Looking at ordering stamptastic name stamp to label dc school clothes etc. Does anyone use it? Is it worth the money as seems expensive at £22? Hoping the ink pad lasts a while. Or am I as well just using a pen?! I just find they wear off quite quick.

Yes! We used it from start of this school year, I now had to re-stamp some stuff, so it lasted about a school year. So quick, doesn’t peel off like labels, and always legible unlike my handwriting

Also if you realise last minute you’ve forgotten to label something -takes 1 second and can’t be easily removed like sew on or iron on labels

The ink pad I bought when DD1 was going into Reception is still working and she's coming to the end of Year 4 now.

That’s good-if it lasts that long reckon it’s def with the money, thanks!

You can only really stamp clothing labels not the actual garment, shoes and plastic items. I haven’t used ours as much as I would have liked due to being restricted to just the care labels - not all labels are big enough to use the stamp on or have enough space!

We stamp on the clothes - shirts, pockets of trousers, sports socks, hats, no problem

MedusaBadHairDay · 05/07/2018 21:28

I tried that Yura but it just faded too quickly, especially white shirts and polos

Must be the material or different washing routine? ours are only getting a bit faint now(from start of the school year)

MedusaBadHairDay · 05/07/2018 21:45

M&S shirts and polos, Daz or Persil Bio washing powder - 40c if not stained, 60c if they are. Kids ages from 6-13, they certainly do work in the labels, but just not other material unfortunately. They are hard to read and don’t stand out enough, I’ve mainly gone with stickins now.

Yep, love mine.

AJPTaylor · 05/07/2018 23:22

yes.
wish i had found this years ago

WeeM · 05/07/2018 23:29

I’m liking the fact it literally takes a second to do it-seems like less faffing around. Ordered!

Nope! I bought it and it's lost us countless pieces of kits, the worst one being a brand new school blazer. Basically the ink isn't visible enough unless stamped on a white background.

Personally I'd never use it again and have reverted to iron-on labels.

Yura · 06/07/2018 05:26

MedusaBadHairDay weird. same washing routine, m&s clothes as well.
i do use sew on labels on stuff like blazers, school cap etc (i.e stuff we have one off and only buy every 2 years or so) because its worth the effort. everything else is stamped. we lost 1 sock in the last year, everything else got returned if lost

FairyPenguin · 08/07/2018 07:06

No. I bought so could use on things other than clothes as well but anything on plastic just washes off or rubs off really easily. On clothes it’s too faint to see. So I’ve gone back to Stikins for clothes as they are just as quick and stay on forever. And vinyl labels for plastic. Which is what i’d been using all along. What a waste of money.

I've had mine for over 5 years and it's still working altho might need to buy a new ink pad this year.I stamp on the care labels rather than the actual fabric and keep it stored in the plastic bag. The two mums that own it are local to me and it's great to see their business grow. stamptastic.co.uk
