I recently moved to Bounds Green area and applied for my 4 year old daughter for a reception. As i didnt have time and doesnt know the area, choose an outstanding and closest Trinity Primary Academy. Does anyone has any informations or experience with this school? I am reconsidering now St Martins of Pores...

Isn't that the one that was called Nightingale and had an awful reputation so they changed its name..... on the road towards Wood Green? I may be wrong.

Omg just checked now. I think it was! Never heard about it. Am I allow to apply for the waiting list in a different school even I got this one as my first preference?

It was called Nightingale, then changed its name six years or so ago.

Go and have a look round OP. Speak to the head. Don't make a decision based on some rumour about an 'awful reputation' from years ago.

Yes you are right. I’m going for an open day and see all the teachers and pupils. Also it’s got outstanding ofsted report so should means something. But in the same time I’ll email other School things m thinking about, so they could put me on a waiting list.

Yes I don't mean dismiss it, just useful always to know the background.

St M of P is a sweet little school. I'd go for that one myself.

Does your child goes there?

Hi, my son is in Year 2 at Trinity and my youngest will be starting nursery this September. Yes, it had a rocky time a few years back, but it's been under new leadership and in that time has achieved the well deserved Outstanding from Ofsted. My son(and our family) are super happy there. They encourage a love of learning and are great at keeping the kids challenged whatever their ability. The school community is wonderfully diverse (we just had an International Food Fair last week, the donations were incredible!) and welcoming. Do visit and see for yourself and if you have any specific questions about the school, I'd be happy to answer them. I know how stressful this time can be-when we applied for my eldest, the school was in 'Requires Improvement' but we liked it so much we put it as a choice above other local schools. Good luck and maybe I'll see you at the welcome meeting in a couple of weeks.

My hell hole experience year 5 - 6
Very very bad I used to be a student in this school from 2014-2018 (year 3-6) and I had 2 amazing teachers in year 3-4 and they made sure that I was able to slowly speak up and understand that crazy stuff will happen in the future and even made sure that my new year 5 teacher (Marvin Joseph) will be understanding bc of shy and supportive needs and even had a calm voice I already felt a sense of calmness and relief until for the true hell that teacher put on me kept reminding me that I had my SATs and how if I failed I wouldn’t even make it to year 7 and even made me stand up so many times and humiliate me in front of the whole class and made sure that I was a “lesson” learned and fun fact he was the reason I got into depression for the very first time and I was 9 btw only 9 I had crazy thoughts in my head on how I hoped that one day he would just leave me alone and kept reporting to my parents so much that I wasn’t doing any work or whatever and it’s bc back then I needed learning support I need help my English was very bad I was trying to be a role model for the sister who would of eventually be in his class but thank god lockdown happened so that wasn’t able to happen and after receiving so many reports from the same teacher my parents actually wondered that he might be the problem and they reported him which let me off for the 2 weeks but then it was even harder.I know teachers will do some stuff so students become better versions of themselves but this was not discipline this is verbal abuse. After that year was finished I begged that I been moved schools but at the time it would of been even tougher for me to start fresh in year 6 at a different school so I made the choice and to continue my last year and the female tecaher was even worst she kept on reminding me “how are you going to survive year 7 like this. How will you be anything in life” and all sorts of fucked up shit I was crying to sleep so many times and my parents did make sure to report them but I don’t why they just kept on going and at one point in year 6 I was beaten up like 6-8 guys and only because my head teacher Melissa Martinez actually saw what happened to me and I always afraid to talk to anyone about this but after she saw what happened to me she actually went and called up the pupils parents and spoke to them had a serious talk with the boys and even made sure that they were not in the same classroom I was for the next 3 days and after that she was the only reason why I was able to actually open my mouth again so I can stand up for myself and while that period that year 5 and year 6 teacher couldn’t even look at me bc of what happened to me I was in depression again but beaten up as well. Unfortunately as soon as I went into year 5 both of good teachers from year 3-4 left due to family reasons.
I saw on there website the year 5 (Marvin Joseph) is still working there and if any parents see this and see there child with that teacher please don’t make him go I know I’m writing this after 7 years but it’s that fucked that it’s still in my mind.
