Teacher marked child with her nail

Yesterday my daughter was fiddling with paper in class and so her teacher removed it from her. Fair enough. However, whilst doing so she marked my daughter with her nail. This happened in the morning and the mark was visible in the evening.
Am I wrong to not see how this could happen? Or maybe worrying unnecessarily as this teacher has been shouty and telling the children how frustrated she is with them since her first week?

I can't say I've ever left a mark that was visible hours later but it is possible to scratch someone. If teacher has long nails then it's very easily done.
How old is your child? Is this a new teacher?

She's 9. I'd understand a scratch, but this is a crescent shape.

Did she go to grab the paper? A crescent shape isn't a scratch really. It suggests nail dug in. Did your daughter refuse to leave the paper or try to avoid handing it over. TBH at 9 I would be feeling her not to faff with paper in class.
Perhaps just ask the teacher what happened?
