How long should I wait?

I asked for an appt to speak to a particular teacher at school but said it wasn't urgent.

8 days later they'd not been in touch so I asked again (at the office) if they could get in touch to arrange something. Still nothing.

It's now 2 weeks since I last asked. Am I being a pain or could I have reasonably expected a response by now?

I think you should definitely have had a response by now. I know when I had parents wanting to speak to me it generally was only a day or so later that I spoke to them at most.

First I would check that the teacher has actually been in school. Then I would email directly. I don't think 2 weeks is a long time if you said non urgent, but personally ( speaking a s a teacher) I would have got back in touch sooner, even of the meeting date wasn't for a little while.

Thank you. I was hoping I wasn't being precious, but I'm feeling a bit put out.

As I've already contacted them via phone and in person, do you think I should email this time, telling them how long it's been since I first requested a meeting, or will that just wind them up?

Teacher has definitely been in school.

I really don't mind waiting for the meeting, but I think it's rather rude to have no response or acknowledgement at all.

I always email. Our office staff is lovely but very busy so I can imagine verbal messages can get lost.

We normally get an email back either late afternoon or the next morning. While our teacher do have individual emails we are asked to send everything via the office which I think is reasonable.

Sounds like email is the way to go! Thanks all.
