Reception kids party present- how much?

DC was invited to birthday party for one child from her reception class and we were asked to get a gift voucher from a specific store as a gift

How much value would you give for the voucher? It is not one of DD’s best friends but she knows him and would love to go.

Usually I find toys of a £10 that have been discounted and are at a less value than that, but for a gift voucher don’t want to go too cheap or extravagant either IYKWIM

I've never had anyone ask for something specific like that. It's definitely on the cheeky side.

£10 absolute maximum and I’d want the card and wrap included in that. Ds is in year one and I’ve found it creeping up a bit this year as the tastes change but in reception I mostly got things like Busy Books from Tesco for £5 and a chocolate lolly in the card.

Ds at his last Birthday party got a mix of plastic tat, books and £5 in a card. £5 in a card is fine and a box of malteasters is fine.

Ds is also year 1 and do find it's a weird age to buy for much easier up until now. I tend to go to Argos and buy the £2 for £15 deals so they get a half decent gift. Ds bday was before Christmas and he had a few £5 notes in cards it didn't make me think "cheap skates" I'd never give a classmate a tenner if they weren't one of his besties.
