I'm trying to do DD's primary application online, and not sure if I'm meant to be filling in the 3000 character supporting information or not. There are no special needs, siblings etc, so if I am meant to be filling it in I have no idea what to put in it Confused. Can anyone advise please? Thanks.

It doesn’t matter what you write, the admissions criteria for that particular school is all that they use to allocate a place.

Agree with Wyrdesista. Unless you have information that puts your daughter into a higher admission category you can safely leave this space blank. Nothing you put here will make any difference to your daughter's chances of getting a place.

Leave it blank

Brilliant, many thanks for your help, I really appreciate that Grin

Does anyone know how it works re 1/2/3 choices? I was told the schools don't know which choice you have put them as, but was also told that if I put a particular school as 2nd or 3rd we don't have much chance, so am confused now Hmm

You will be put on the list for each school that you choose (so will be on 3 lists)
Each list is in order of eligibility and doesn’t matter if you ranked the School 1st or 3rd

If the school takes say 30 people then the top 30 will be given a place.

If you get 2 places from 2 of your chosen schools you will be given the highest choice School eg 2nd School instead of 3rd if they both offer places

You will then be taken off the other schools lists apart from the highest ranking offer

The other people on the lists then all get shuffled up

This happened until all the School places have been allocated and everyone only has 1 offer.

It sounds complicated and. It sure be explained it very well.

Brie, thank you so much, that makes much more sense now! And has cleared a little bit of the smoke and mirrors that we've been hearing Grin. Thank you so much.
