Would I be “that parent”...

... if I sent a polite email to the school pointing out the inconsistencies between the school uniform as listed on the pdf buried in the school’s website, and that listed in the reminder in the latest newsletter?

I’m a pedant and this annoys me. Should I let it go (and give away the shoes I’ve bought that comply with the pdf)?

Our school made a bit of a mistake on the uniform list it sent out at the end of last term. I pointed it out in our last staff meeting, before we broke up for the summer, and lo and behold loads of people phoned school about it!
There's no problem asking for clarification, but you become " that parent" if you come on all stroppy about it!

I agree about not crying wolf with schools if you want to be taken seriously over more important things. Asking politely for clarification on something is fine though

I think people who wouldn't become "that parent" would just clarify with school if confused, other wise leave it if it's not a big deal.
Certainly wouldn't start a thread over such a petty thing, tbh.

irvine I am absolutely in danger of being that parent. At least I have some insight, no? Better to start a thread where no one is forced to read or reply on the grounds that it is their job to do so, I reckon.

To me, wording is a bit of clue between "that parent", and average parent.

"pointing out the inconsistencies" and "clarifying". Grin

Yeah, fair point.

Exactly what CrumpettyTree says. I was too scared too seek clarification for fear of 'THAT parent' Syndrome, and DD ended up being told off for having wrong bit of kit. Felt awful. Don't be a wimp like I was!
