Ofstead parent view- worried school will see my comments

My DS school was inspected and school asked us to fill parent view. I did that and at the end there was a box for more comments. It said it will all be confidential.
Stupidly I put down that I'm a parent of autistic boy (it's mild and he has no statement) but wAnted to say I was not entirely happy with way school deals with children who are seemingly able, but actually need more help. Especially emotional education.
Now I'm worried school will know it's me as it's a small school.
I have spoken to Head about my concerns but she's not really doing much about it.
Does anyone know if the survey is shown to school, especially the comments.
Thank you.

If you have a view, own it.

What is it that you are scared they will do?

Crazycatsandkids · 12/09/2017 20:20

Why wouldn't you want them to know? If you're unhappy with something do keep pressing, don't be fobbed off

Nasha26 · 12/09/2017 20:35

You are absolutely right Rainybo. I would say the same thing. It's just a bit complicated. I wish I said it differently. The school is actually not that bad. Most teachers try really hard.

Well if parents put up and shut up nothing will ever improve.

You were asked your opinion and gave it.

I'm pretty sure ds school (ds also has asd) knew the questionnaire I did was mine if they saw it.
They definitely knew the 2nd one I did (you can complete one per academic year) was me as I mentioned a specific safeguarding issue. If they'd have dealt with it o would t have needed to flag it imo!

Ofsted have said it is confidential and I am sure that they will retain this confidentiality. However if it is a small school and Ofsted take the view they need to probe more into SEN in the school then depending on what other pupils have got SEN etc the school may be able to guess that it was you. But they cannot be certain
I would forget about it and assume everything is OK until and if somebody at school mentions it.

Copperbeech33 · 12/09/2017 21:35

Ofsted collate the results of the survey and the school will be shown that, however, negatives are expected, it would not be a very good indicator that the school was doing everything right if ll parents were happy. That would indicated either disproportionate and inappropriate pandering to parents, or faking the questionnaire!

CookieDoughKid · 12/09/2017 21:50

If there is any impact then it ought to be a positive one as the school ought to address it at least! Don't worry the school should bexpect adult about positive and negative impact.

CookieDoughKid · 12/09/2017 21:51

Should be adult about both positive and negative impact.

All comments are given to the leadership and used in identifying the needs of the school. Will your school likely know who said what. Yes. But, why the issue? Are you concerned about their lack of professionalism? If yes, then that is another issue.

Thank you all! Let's hope they listen this time.
