Laundry advice needed, school jumpers

I've just washed for the first time DS's school jumpers at the correct temp, they've come out slightly creased and are non iron and we have no tumble dryer....what do I do?

Did you tumble dry them or are they still damp?

If dry, hang on coathangers & hope for the best.

If still damp, as above, but above a radiator. Make sure they are as smooth as possible.

Whatever you do, they'll be creased within 3.4 seconds on being put on, surely...?

Just hang them up straighten out and don't worry about it.

Kids crease them by wearing them anyway

When it says non iron it doesn't mean you can't iron them! Hang them on hangers to dry

GlitterGlue · 10/09/2017 16:01

I'd iron them inside out on a low temp. Through a tea towel if necessary.

Alexandra87 · 10/09/2017 16:03

Why not just iron them?

user789653241 · 10/09/2017 16:16

Iron hot temp with steam through some thin cloths on top the jumper, but don't press just hover.

Vanillamanilla1 · 10/09/2017 16:23

Iron them inside out or on a low temp

Don't use too much fabric softener it really sticks to those jumpers!

Although ours said don't tumble dry it didn't do them any harm.

Yeah non iron means you don't have to not that you can't! If they're still wrinkly just iron them

GreenTulips · 10/09/2017 16:31

Your laundry standards with uniform drop substantially by about half term

Rubbish! It's straight after photo day

TwatteryFlowers · 10/09/2017 16:36

If, like me, you have no iron or tumble dryer you just pull them when they're damp and then put them to dry over the radiator or on the airer and they end up less creased. I wouldn't really give a monkey's anyway tbh because they end up looking bedraggled by dinnertime whether you've ironed their clothes or not.

I used to just hang them in the airing cupboard to dry, that was good enough. I do have a tumble dryer but never tumble knitwear.

Hanging to dry must have gradually stretched them, meaning that the first jumper (cardi, actually) DD had in reception - smallest size, cuffs turned back - lasted all the way through KS1 and halfway through KS2Grin
